How Old Is Your Make-Up?

Did you see that article in the news last week about out of date make-up being a health hazard? Utter rubbish. Ok, that’s just my opinion, but I do not know of one woman who replaces any item of make-up before it runs out simply because she is worried that it is contaminated. Make-up is just too damn expensive to do that.

Feet First At This Morning

Fern Britton and I have something in common; we are both high maintenance foot fetishists. Fern’s feet are beautiful and she shows them off to full effect in bejewelled sandals year round. I am a shoe shopaholic and so, like Fern, have no choice but to invest in my feet with regular pedicures and even trips to a podiatrist; the fancy new name for chiropodists. We both have a weakness for high heels, stilettos and sandals and so our toes and heels are pretty much always buffed and beautiful.

A Site To Behold

I am so often disappointed with beauty company websites. There are the plainly practical ones where you can check prices and buy online, there are the Hotel California ones where you simply cannot get out without shutting down your computer, and then there are the brilliantly bad ones that are out of date, have no prices, no means of buying the stuff and, more importantly, no sense of humour.

Man Make-Up At This Morning

Yesterday I roped four slightly unsuspecting men in to a make-up item on This Morning. Paul, James, Gary and Dan were a touch nervous about applying make-up live on air and, despite the fact that they had volunteered for the programme, were all laughing nervously when told they would have to wear eyeliner, mascara, bronzer and even lipstick.

My Celebrity Crush

I met Sarah Jessica Parker on Friday and I am smitten. Not only by her cropped black trousers, diamonds, impossibly high Louboutin patent courts and her Serge Normant frisky ponytail, but by her smart and sweet nature. Now of course she is an actress, so she might be acting, but I am a sucker for anyone who is smart and self effacing, stylish and sassy, and not model perfect.

SJP was in town to launch Covet her second scent and although it won’t hit counters until August, it’s a very interesting scent, and not your usual boring, bland celebrity smell.

Glamour's Main Man

Just recently I met Gregory Arlt, the man on the speed dial of two of LA’s most glamorous women Dita Von Teese and Pamela Anderson. As a MAC make-up artist, he is on call to the rich and famous in LA and has also recently worked with Sienna Miller and Victoria Beckham. So I had to ask him for some of his insider secrets.
